BEREAVEMENT
The Bereavement Committee offers a true Pastoral response to parishioners who are grieving the loss of a loved one. On behalf of the parish family, members of the team offer pastoral care and support to the bereaved as they go through the funeral and grieving process.
BUILDINGS AND GROUNDS
The Buildings and Grounds Committee is responsible for the physical condition of the Church, the Parish Center and the Parish grounds. The committee’s primary function is to ensure that the parish property is adequately maintained. It also seeks ways to enhance the beauty of the Parish buildings and grounds.
EVANGELIZATION
The Evangelization Committee is dedicated to the missionary activity of the Church within the parish. Their primary goal is to go out and spread the “Good News.” The Committee assists individuals in their journey of faith as they go through the RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) process. The team also seeks to find pastoral ways of welcoming back into the faith community alienated Catholics.
FINANCE
The Finance Committee works closely with the pastor assisting him with the financial affairs of the parish. They seek ways to ensure the financial stability of the parish so that the pastoral needs of the St. Anthony parish faith community are met currently and in the future.
GREETERS
The Greeters Committee focuses on making parishioners and friends feel welcome at parish liturgies and functions. The role of the greeters is to promote a “spirit of hospitality” so that parishioners and visitors alike feel at home in a Parish Faith Community.
HOSPITALITY
The Hospitality Committee seeks to promote the social well-being of the parish family. Committee members assist at parish functions and at the “Sunday coffees,” which take place after the 8:00 and 9:30 A.M. masses. Members of this committee are also asked to encourage parishioners and guests to attend these gatherings so that the parish may build community through fellowship.
LITURGY AND WORKSHOP
The Liturgy and Worship Committee seeks to enhance and strengthen the spiritual life of the faith community. This committee assists the pastoral staff in the planning and preparation of all liturgies. In addition to the Eucharistic liturgies, members are responsible for the organizing of Communal Penance and Healing liturgies, Evenings of Reflection, Missions and Retreats. This committee also offers pastoral support to the many ministries that are an integral part of parish liturgies and prayer services.
MUSIC
The Music Ministry provides the music which enhances the liturgies at St. Anthony Parish. The choir sings at the 9:30 A.M. mass each Sunday during the program year. New members are always welcome to the choir! Choir Rehearsals are conducted on Thursdays at 7:30 PM in the choir loft.
PASTORAL OUTREACH
The Pastoral Outreach Committee offers a Christian response to members of the parish and the wider community who are in need of goods and services. This committee offers pastoral care to the many parishioners who are home-bound because of illness or age. The committee seeks to make Christ present to those who are in need of assistance.
PARISH PASTORAL COUNCIL
The Parish Pastoral Council consists of a group of parishioners whose primary duty is to assist the pastor with the planning and running of the parish. Each parish pastoral council member is elected for a threeyear term to represent the parishioners. They act as channels of information and concern for the benefit of the parish.
RESPECT LIFE
The Respect Life Committee advocates respect for all life from the moment of conception until the moment of a natural death. The committee promotes the Church’s position on life. It seeks to make parishioners and the wider community aware of the Church’s views on life.
RELIGIOUS EDUCATION
The Religious Education Committee recognizes that faith formation is a lifelong process. It seeks to build upon the free faith response of individuals and fosters through instruction to adults and youth a Catholic faith that is living, conscious and active.
YOUTH MINISTRY
The Youth Ministry promotes activities and faith formation to, by and for the youth of our parish. It seeks to build faith and develop the talents of the youth through, service, fellowship and evangelization.
BAPTISM OUTREACH
Touch the families of nearly 100 new parishioners each year. Introduce the Community of St. Anthony’s Parish, provide information, and evangelize.
SIX-CHURCH-CLUSTER
Organizes activities with the Cluster, which includes St. Mary’s, Scituate; St. Ann, Hull; St. Helen, Norwell; St. Paul, Hingham St. Anthony, Cohasset and Resurrection, Hingham.
